02 — Methodology

How we collected these numbers

Each row pulls from the TreeServiceHunt city-level cost guide for that metro. Ranges describe the typical installed price a homeowner can expect to be quoted in 2026 — not promotional pricing, not the cheapest one-off bid, and not custom-spec jobs at the high end. The standard-job column is one realistic job in that metro priced all-in (materials + labor) by the same definition we use on each city page.

We exclude: financing add-ons, warranty extensions, travel surcharges beyond the immediate metro, and any work that is fundamentally a different service (e.g., concrete replacement priced as part of an epoxy floor job).

The “what moves the number” column is the same set of drivers surfaced on each city's cost page. If your situation has more than one of these stacked, expect to land near the top of the range.
